But for some young people who grew up in residential care, life looks very different. Once they leave the care system, many no longer have family support. They must find housing, work, and manage daily expenses on their own. In these circumstances, continuing their education can feel like a luxury, and tuition becomes a heavy burden. For youths without family care, pursuing higher education often means facing a choice between survival and studying. Through the Education Continuation Program for Youth Without Family Care of Chinese Children’s Home and Shelter Association (CCSA), we help ensure that these young people do not have to give up their dreams simply because of financial hardship.
